Lightbearer - Original Oil Painting
Lightbearer - Original Oil Painting
Lightbearer is from the collection Mysteries of the Deep.
In the deepest dark, she carries her own light.
There's a kind of darkness we all move through — the in-between, the not-yet-known, the stretch of life where the way ahead hasn't revealed itself. For millions of years, jellyfish have drifted through ancient tides carrying their own soft glow through the vastness of the deep. They don't wait for the water to brighten around them. They are the light.
I painted this for anyone learning to trust their own light — to keep glowing through uncertainty, even when nothing around them is clear yet.
This painting says: you don't have to wait for the path to light up before you move. The light you're searching for is already within you. You only have to carry it.
The mermaid is you — a bridge between worlds, holding something fragile and luminous with great tenderness. The jellyfish is your inner light: ancient, resilient, quietly enduring. Together they're a reminder that even in the deepest dark, you carry everything you need to find your way.
And for all their resilience, jellyfish now signal a shift in the ocean's fragile balance — a quiet reminder that the beauty of the sea, and our role as its stewards, rests in our hands.
