About Jill Wasey

I paint nature because it's where the body remembers how to rest.

In a world that asks a lot of us, I believe we need more spaces that calm rather than stimulate.

My work is inspired by wildlife, forests, the coast, and the quiet intelligence of the natural world. These are the places I return to when I need to slow down and breathe more deeply. Painting them is my way of bringing that feeling indoors — so it can live with you, not just be visited.

My intention is that my paintings create a sense of calm in your home. Many people describe feeling soothed, grounded, or gently protected — helping their nervous system to settle.

You don't have to think about the work deeply for it to have an effect. It's enough to simply live with it.

I paint what I'm drawn to, and I trust that the people these paintings are for will feel drawn to them.

If one of my pieces brings a sense of peace, familiarity, or relief into your space, then it's doing exactly what it was made to do.

This is art for slowing down — and having a place to rest.
